Property
A beautiful and historic hotel, built in 1891, near the shore of Lake Yellowstone with a charming 1920’s ambiance.

Location
In the Lake Yellowstone area of Yellowstone National Park.

Sleeps
2-4.

Highlights
Rooms in the main hotel have a 1920’s ambiance while rooms in the annex are more budget oriented and have a more contemporary feel. There are also duplex cabins in the complex with simple furnishings.  All rooms lack tv and internet but neither of these features will be missed during your stay. After all, this is Yellowstone, get outside! Lake Yellowstone is a gorgeous place and don’t be surprised if you see a bison or deer wondering near the property. Canoes, kayaks and scenic cruises are great ways to explore the lake.

Good to Know
Dinner at the Lake Yellowstone dining room is more upscale and reservations are recommended. Breakfast and lunch are first come first served and attire is casual. There is also a deli onsite with some nice take and go options. The Lake Lodge Cafeteria is a short walk away and offers more moderately priced fare in a cafeteria style setting. When we stayed in one of the annex rooms we were greeted by a little stuffed bear with the option to bring it home for a $16 donation. Once my daughter laid her eyes on that bear, there was no other option. The money goes to a good cause but the tactic was a bit sneaky. Be forewarned. If you don’t want the bear, sneak into the room and hide it before one of your kids sees it. The Lake Yellowstone Hotel is open during the summer season only. Check their website for dates.
