This grand hotel has all the opulent charm of a historic property, with none of the pretentiousness. Which is a good thing when your party includes a rough-and-tumble toddler prone to public meltdowns. Because of its location in “The Sweetest Place on Earth,” this is a kid-friendly place, from the Hershey bars presented to you at check-in, to the swim diapers available at the new multi-pool swimming complex.
The hotel is situated on a hill overlooking Hersheypark (which includes ZooAmerica) and Hershey’s Chocolate World, and sits directly across the street from Hershey Gardens. The manicured grounds include formal gardens and tennis courts, which you can see from the second floor “Chocolate Spa.”
The elegant rooms are configured with either one king bed, one queen bed, or two double beds; each with space for a portable crib. There is turndown service, with Hershey’s Kisses left on the pillows, naturally!
When visiting Hershey, you’ll be spending a lot of time at the attractions, but it will be tempting to linger on property and enjoy your surroundings. The zero-grade entry pool offers water park entertainment, with two water slides, water canons, and splash pad. There are family cabanas available for daily rental, and a snack bar.
There are numerous luxury appointments in the guest rooms, from LG flat panel TV’s to the complimentary coffee and water atop the granite bar. The toiletries are all spa products, including the Cocoa Body Scrub. Thoughtful touches include free wi-fi, and garbage bags specifically for recyclables.
Good to know
Make no mistake, this is an appropriately-priced AAA Four Diamond property. It’s worth the splurge, although the nearby Hershey Lodge is a more budget-friendly alternative.
