Property
A newly renovated resort offering sleekly designed rooms set in the natural beauty of 300 acres of mountainous forests and clear running streams.  There are plenty of activities for kids and adults alike, such as golf (and mini golf), tennis, croquet, lawn bowling, biking, a heated pool and luxurious new spa.  There are three ski resorts nearby, as well as trout farms, fly fishing and the Mt. Hood Adventure Park.  Need more?  Try scenic drives, wineries, the Columbia Gorge and U-pick farms and orchards.

Location
About 1 hour southeast of Portland, at the foot of Mt. Hood and adjacent to the Salmon River.

Sleeps
Our spacious room had 2 queen beds and plenty of room for a roll away bed or crib. Two and three bedroom golf villas are also available, which can sleep up to 8.

Highlights
The customer service was exceptional. When I asked what time the activity center closed, the front desk told me it was never a matter of ‘No’, just a matter of ‘How’. Anyone in the resort could get to the equipment we wanted to borrow, regardless of time. We stumbled across a fly-fishing lesson, and the guide called our 4-year-old over to try casting. Everyone went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed ourselves.

Good to know
We can forgive the spotty Wi-Fi because each room has a T1 connection (cables available at the front desk). If you have very small children, you might want to bring a stroller. It is a large and very spread out property, and there are lots of walking paths between amenities.
