Winnetu Inn: Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts

Property
50 luxurious but unpretentious studios, 1-4 bedroom suites, and a cottage with a choice of ocean, dune, or pool views. All have kitchens, a/c, private decks or patios, daily housekeeping, and high speed internet connections. Some have laundry facilities.
Location
250 yards from the ocean’s edge on Martha’s Vineyard. Martha’s Vineyard is the largest island in New England, located seven miles from Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
Sleeps
2-12.
Highlights
Private path to beach. Heated outdoor pool. Library. Life-size outdoor chess. Children’s playground. Complimentary afternoon lemonade and cookies. Whale watching. Kayaking. Clambakes. Free daily kids program (in season) from 8–12. Miles of beaches with family style (i.e., gentle) surf. Pond full of turtles for your kids to feed.
Good to know
Only open seasonally (this year from April 18–October 26). Access is by ferry, and don’t bring your car–it’s a hassle. To get into Edgarton (the biggest town on the island) walk/jog/bike 3 miles on the path, hop a water taxi, or ride the shuttle bus. From the inn, it’s a short walk to the beach (and you will cross a busy road).
