Ayers Rock Resort: Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, Australia

Property
Visiting Ayers Rock and The Olgas is an absolute must in any Australian vacation. As far as accommodation goes, the Ayers Rock Resort (a large complex of 5 hotels locally known as Yulara) is the only game in town. Non-camping families will be most comfortable at the Emu Walk Apartments. The 1 and 2-bedroom apartments here are reasonably priced for this area, and have kitchens, air-conditioning, balconies, TV (movies are extra), ironing boards and hair-dryers. They are also close to the supermarket and restaurants.
Location
The Ayers Rock Resort has turned an uninhabitable desert into a comfortable and easy place to visit. It lies just outside the national park, 12 miles from Ayers Rock and is the closest base for exploring the area’s attractions.
Sleeps
Up to 6. More in adjoining rooms.
Highlights
Sunrise. Sunset. Stars. The lack of luxury in the resort cannot take away the breathtaking Ayers Rock experience. Cooling off in the pool.
Extremely hot November to February. This is the real Outback, so be prepared to balk at the cost of everything.
