Property
Nestled in the Alps at 4,000 feet, this cheerful family-owned hotel built in 1999 combines the quaintness of Alpine living with the luxury of a spa resort. Its non-smoking policy in both the hotel and restaurant make it a great destination for any family. Hips beware! You’ll have to pass their bakery to get your room key.

Location
Either by cable car from the valley in Rhäzüns or by car along the unpaved road, the hotel is located in the Swiss canton of Graubünden in a tiny town called Feldis. The town offers a grocery store, ski lift, fire station, several restaurants and even a grammar school. You can walk from one end of town to the other in about 10 minutes.

Sleeps
A family of four can sleep comfortably in their family-sized suites. Cribs are available upon request. Just make sure you keep the balcony door closed so Little Johnny doesn’t crawl to his demise over the metal railing.

Highlights
In the winter, you can enjoy the bunny slope aptly named Pinocchio or adventureous sled rides from the top of the mountain range (6,200 feet) available by a two-person lift. For you mountaineers, mid-May to mid-September is the best time to tackle the arduous three-hour climb to the summit. Be sure to check the opening hours of the Alpine restaurants posted on the outside wall of the local grocers so you don’t go hungry before reaching the top.

Good to know
Mira Tödi is closed for meals on Mondays. Bring your dog for an extra 10 SFr per night. For three nights or more you can book a room at a lower rate, including breakfast and dinner. There’s no minimum stay. If you’re allergic to sheep, hold your nose when you pass the barn adjacent to the hotel.
