Caserío del Mirador: Jalon Valley, Spain

Property
A gorgeous, family-run country retreat in rural Spain with guest rooms, suites, and apartments of various sizes. Family suites and apartments all have stoves, fridges, basic kitchen facilities, a sitting room, and outside terraces. British owners Sarah and Johnny Robinson have young children themselves, and have created a haven for families. They have a pool and sandbox, plus toys, games, and books for children of all ages. Families with older children can take advantage of nearby horseback riding, tennis, and biking opportunities. Families with young children will appreciate the travel cribs, highchairs, baby monitors, travel strollers, and sun umbrellas that are available to borrow at no extra cost.

Location
Caserío del Mirador is located 5 minutes from the market town of Jalon and 30 minutes from the beach resorts of Moraira, Javea, Denia and Calpe on Spain’s Costa Blanca. The Valencia and Alicante airports are an hour’s drive away.

Sleeps
2-10.

Highlights
Sunday lunches of homemade paella. Early dinners for children while parents enjoy a cool drink. Donkey rides by arrangement. Packed lunches for all-day outings. Delicious, authentic Spanish dinners served communally, in your apartment, or on your terrace.

Good to know
Book well in advance, or try to visit in June before British schools let out for the summer. It can be chilly here in the spring.
