New Family Friendly Hotels in Cordoba:

Hotel Conquistador: Córdoba, Spain

Property

The Conquistador Hotel in Córdoba maintains a handful of spacious 1-bedroom apartments around the corner from the hotel. They are modern, powerfully air conditioned, and (best of all) have no minimum stay. Bathrooms are large, and have bathtubs. Location on a small side street is quiet. If you’re traveling with a toddler, be sure to request an apartment without stairs (which are steep, plentiful, and tiled). The hotel has free wifi in the lobby, and a nice (if expensive) breakfast buffet.

Location
In Córdoba’s Jewish quarter, just across the street from the eastern facade of the incomparable Mezquita. From here it’s a ten-second walk to the Mosque, and ten minutes to the Puente Roman–the pedestrian-only bridge that spans the Guadalquivir River and offers beautiful views of the Mezquita (when it’s not covered with scaffolding and marred by cranes).

Sleeps
2-5.

Highlights
Looking for pictures of animals in the frescos, carvings, and tombs of the Mezquita. We found a peacock, snails, dragons, lions, snakes, wolves, lambs, and a horse. Beat that.

Good to know
Don’t attempt the Conquistador’s claustrophobic underground parking garage on your own. Leave your car on the sidewalk and let the bellman park for you.
