Location
The hotel is located one mile from the city center, and a 20-minute drive to Loch Ness. Glencoe, Ben Nevis, and Urquhart Castle are convenient too, though you will need a car.

Highlights
Looking for Nessie (this is obviously obligatory for the short set). Jacobite’s tours (child-friendly minibus and boat tours of Loch Ness environs and exhibits, try the “Jacobite Sensation” if your kids have a 3-hour attention span, www.jacobite.co.uk.

Good to know
Book way ahead if you’re planning to come for the Highland Games (traditional track and field events plus kooky feats of strength performed by men in kilts) or the Inverness Tattoo (an impressive, distinctly Scottish military-marching-music exhibition with dancing and bagpipes too).
