New Family Friendly Hotels in Peloponnese:
4-bedroom Apartment: Stoupa, Greece

Property
This roomy 4-bedroom apartment with a huge kitchen is perfect for a family (or two!) that likes to do some of its own cooking. As dinner isn’t served in most Greek restaurants until 8 or 9 pm, we appreciated the full size oven and access to frozen pizza for the kids at the nearby supermarket. Each bedroom has French doors out to the balcony and with all the windows open, we enjoyed the fresh ocean breezes that dried our sandy swimsuits hanging over the balcony rail.
Location
Stoupa is a small beach town in the Peloponnese that’s happily escaped overdevelopment. There’s a pedestrian walkway along the beach and a strip of shops, a supermarket that also sells walking maps of the area, restaurants, 2 amazing bakeries and cafes across the street facing the beach. The two story house is in a fabulous location with just a two block walk downhill to the beach and a two block walk uphill to the playground that also boasts a great climbing tree. Stoupa is handy as a base for day trips around the Peloponnese peninsula: hikes to monasteries, nearby historic towns, and the vlychada cave that’s visited by boat (a hit with our kids, ages 3-5).
Sleeps
8 in 4 bedrooms. Each bedroom has a full bathroom.
Highlights
The wide balcony that wraps all the way around the second floor kept the kids busy chasing each other in circles while we attempted to cook Greek spinach pie, squid and dolmades in the roomy, well stocked kitchen. The friendly owner of the house stopped by our first day and brought up fresh pressed olive oil and a jar of olives from his own grove.
Good to know
Free laundry available downstairs. No living room or amazing views, but the kitchen is plenty big enough to hang out in and the balcony nearly counts as another room. Each room has AC but we didn’t need it in May.
