New Family Friendly Hotels in Pacific Coast:

Bosque del Cabo: Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica

Property

10 private cabinas and 2 rental houses with private bathrooms, outdoor garden showers, solar-powered electricity, and porches with ocean views. There are 360 species of birds in this corner of the world, and 1,000 species of butterflies. Contemplate this from the comfort of your hammock or poolside lounger.

Location
Bosque del Cabo is located on the Osa Peninsula in a rainforest of such lush natural beauty that 75% is either national parkland or forest preserve. It is a 45-minute flight over the mountains from San Jose to Puerto Jimenez, then a 45-minute drive to the lodge.

Sleeps
2-7.

Highlights
Your young naturalists will be ecstatic to see howler monkeys, coatis, scarlet macaws, toucans, agoutis, and sloths often without leaving your cabin’s deck.

Good to know
Bring a flashlight and sturdy hiking shoes. Food is simple and buffet-style, but healthy and fresh. While it’s an easy walk 500 feet down the Pacific Ocean, this is really more of a jungle than a beach destination.
