New Family Friendly Hotels in Belize:

The Inn at Roberts Grove: Placencia, Belize

Property
32 rooms, suites, and villas deliciously decorated with handcrafted furniture in native woods, woven fabrics and rugs, Mexican terra cotta tiled floors, original artwork and antiques. This luxurious, yet carefree retreat comes complete with air conditioning, ceiling fans, screens, cable television, minifridges, hammocks, two restaurants, and three oceanfront pools (the infinity pool’s floating trampoline goes down particularly well with the short set).

Location
The Inn at Roberts Grove is 100 miles from Belize City (30 minutes by air) on a sleepy 18-mile stretch of land called the Placencia Peninsula. It’s located between a reef and a rainforest, and offers guests of all ages many ways to explore both.

Sleeps
2- 7 in accommodations ranging from standard rooms to 3BR deluxe villas.

Highlights
Got medium-sized kids? Visit Mayan ruins, swim in caves, go manatee spotting or prowl around a Jaguar Reserve. Kids too little for that? Curl up in a hammock, go beachcombing, or stroll the 200-foot pier. Do as much or as little as you like, it’s hard to go wrong here.

Good to know
If you’re heading into town, you’ll have to take a cab. This is the (fairly insignificant) downside of all that privacy and seclusion. Yes, there are sometimes mosquitoes in Belize. Be prepared. Pack light: the hotel has a cheap laundry service.
