Travel with Your Parents. Or Teddy Bears. Or Four Kids.

Here are five great family travel reads from around the web to kick off the new year:

1. 10 Reasons to Travel with your Parents as an Adult

This heartwarming, witty article by Hal Amen, featured on Traveler’s Notebook, reminded me of my vacation with my Dad to his homeland—the Czech Republic. It’s an alternative view of family travel, and thoroughly enjoyable.

2. Crater Lake by Snowshoe.  With Kids.

This article by Jennifer Margulis took me from my suburban existence to beautiful, snowy Crater Lake. Please read about this uplifting family trip – you’ll be strapping on your snowshoes.

3. Teddy Bear Travel Guide to America’s National Parks

If you are thinking of traveling to the U.S. National Parks this year, check out Teddy Travels, winner of two National awards and recommended by the LA Times. It’s part kids’ guide, part journal, and great for age 5 and up.

4. Toddlers and Disney: I Make the Mistakes So You Don’t Have To, Part I

Do you follow The Accidental Housewife? You should! She’s hilarious. This view of Disney is one of the many funny reads from “The Place Where I Waste My Law Degree.”

5. SixSuitcaseTravel: New Resource for Finding Large-Family Hotel Rooms

Thanks to Minnemom at Travels With Children for this one!  SixSuitcaseTravel lists hotels that fit families of 5 or 6 (not just the cookie cutter family of 4).  So useful.
