We have a family vacation home up in Truckee, and I have been taking my now 7 year old at least once a month since he was born. I do find the Kidzone museum a great place to ease cabin fever, the bookstores are great too. We used to love the Truckee Train & Toy Co., but sadly it closed.
Funny how I haven't tried any of the more touristy things (happens when you take a destination for granted), but the sleigh ride sounds cool and will look into it if I need a break from my book and cocoa.
