If you live in South Jersey or the greater Philadelphia area, you’ve heard of Camden, New Jersey. Probably every night at about 6:00pm when the newscaster is going through some of the more interesting crimes of the day. So I don’t think I’m stretching too much when I say it may not be the first place you think of for a family excursion.
But both Chet and I are aquarium freaks. And as Camden is home to the New Jersey State Aquarium — the Adventure Aquarium — we were happy to be sidetracked to one of America’s most dangerous cities. And we weren’t disappointed. This enormous indoor and outdoor complex is home to hundreds of fish and animal species from across the globe including fabulous touch exhibits, a shark tunnel, a virtual shark cage, diving adventures and a gift shop that even you’ll be happy to get lost in.
