Hi,
I just loved Slide Rock! I had some of your same thoughts
about the lawyers and told a lot of people that I didn’t think our state NYS) would allow such activity…due to liability. We’ve visited Sedona/Flagstaff…which have
high quality art…and as an artist I began charcoals and
a small acrylics at the state park. But nothing can do justice to the place. I was scared to try the slides but
I sure did stay all day and get sunburned twice and just so enjoyed the beauty and the kids having the greatest fun!
If you send me your address I’ll try to send you some
images I painted…Don’t worry they aren’t for sale…I wouldn’t even know how to frame them and the can’t hold a candle to ‘the real deal’ but my expressionistic approach
may capture some of it.
What a wonderful scope you have. I bet the Moms love it.

Just north of Slide Rock is a great little hike that kids will love. You park at the Call of the Canyon day-use area, then follow the path to West Fork Oak Creek Trail. The hike itself is pretty easy, but children of all ages will have a lot of fun with the many creek crossings you have to undertake in order to keep going. Walking sticks are readily available to help steady you as you go across. We’ve done a lot of hikes as a family and this one rates as one of our favorites.

Love this!! We have one tiny sliding rock behind our house and they love it. But this one sure looks like a big water park. :)
