Get your Dreamworks on at Gaylord Hotels

Celebrate the holidays or take a family vacation with your favorite Dreamworks characters at Gaylord hotels.

Last week, Gaylord Hotels was kind enough to invite Chet and myself to a premiere showing of Dreamworks’ new picture, Puss In Boots, at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine, Texas.  The movie was, as my the very Texan woman sitting next to me described it, “a hoot and a holler and a half”– the kind of action-packed, hilarious film you’ve come to expect from the creators of “Shrek” and “Madagascar.”  We loved it.  (Seeing Antonio Banderas up close and personal wasn’t so bad either).

But as much as Chet loved the film, I think he enjoyed our stay at the Gaylord Texan equally as much–because not only is the property a kiddie wonderland complete with a huge atrium perfect for exploring  and seasonal waterpark but, as premiere guests, we got a taste of Gaylord’s new Dreamworks Experience.

The motto for the the Dreamworks Experience is Get Into Fun!  And they are pretty darn serious about it.  Families who book a Dreamworks Experience package can look forward having a meal with Shrek, Alex the Lion from Madagascar or other favorite Dreamworks character, scouring the grounds for clues in a Dreamworks-themed scavenger hunt as well as indulge in a wide variety of other holiday-specific events and activities.

And right now, when you book your package, kids stay for free.  That’s right, FREE!

The holidays are going to be a big deal at Gaylord Hotels.  The Gaylord Texan, for example, will be offering “Shrek the Halls”–complete with ice slides, gingerbread decorating, character meet and greets and snow tubing with Kung Fu Panda.  And, speaking from experience, the Gaylord Texan usually has a few surprises up its sleeve for Dreamworks guests, too.

So looking for something a little different this holiday season for your family?  With different events and activities planned at the four different Gaylord properties, there’s bound to be a little Dreamworks magic going around that will be perfect for you.
