About Wendy Spivey
Wendy Spivey is a jewelry designer, mother, and Australian expat. Before relocating to Dakar, Senegal in 2005, she ran Fortes Safaris in Tanzania for many years. Her passion for ethical living has led her to serve on the advisory board of Winds of Africa, an international organization dedicated to bettering education, health, and economic systems in Tanzania. She also works with 10,000 Girls, a project to help young women in rural Senegal break the cycle of poverty through education. This year Wendy will embark on her 8th solo round the world trip with her three kids. “I will be traveling to Paris, New York, Mexico, Hawaii, New Zealand, Sydney, Singapore and Bali. Imagine doing that without a husband every year! I do have one,” she hastens to add, “but he is just too busy.”
