About Rebecca Tompkins
Rebecca Tompkins recently returned from a two year expatriate stint in London to her “regular” life in suburban New Jersey. Determined to make the most of their European surroundings while abroad, she and her husband dragged their two young children on over a dozen trips in less than two years. Having maxed out their lifetime budget and everyone’s vacation time with this non-stop travel schedule, Rebecca and her husband are now trying to convince themselves that short-stay domestic travel can be just as exciting as elaborate foreign adventures. They remain a bit dubious on this point, but must admit that a country in which grilled cheese sandwiches are ubiquitous on restaurant menus has a certain charm and appeal.
