Katherine Barrett is a Canadian currently living in the Western Cape of South Africa. She holds a PhD in Botany and Applied Ethics and, prior to motherhood, published in several newspapers, journals and academic anthologies. Giving birth to three children within fifteen months brought predictable fatigue as well as unexpected insight and a rekindled love of writing.
