About Carrie Simmons

Carrie Simmons is the creator and co-producer of the award-winning “Travel With Kids” Family Travel Guide Series on DVD. Armed with a degree in advertising/marketing and a minor in creative writing, and a husband with a degree in television production, they promptly quit their jobs, stowed all worldly possessions and traveled the globe. With nothing more than a couple of backpacks and one way tickets, the duo started in Beijing, and crossed the US-Mexico border on foot 8 months later. Along with the customary European stops, the journey took them through China, Vietnam, Burma, Moscow, Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Africa and South America on local buses, trains, donkeys and camels.

Back in the real world with jobs, house and now two little boys, Carrie began hearing “now you have kids, you’ll never travel again.” After a trip to Morocco, Spain and Ireland with our 11-month-old, the questions became “how do you do it with kids?” (and “aren’t you scared taking your kids to a foreign country?”) and so the “Travel With Kids” Video Series was born. Four years later the family has filmed and produced family travel guides in Mexico, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, Hawaii, Florida, Bahamas, Alaska, and last fall Peru and Costa Rica. Travel With Kids, and kids is now Carrie’s full time job, while helping with homework and school plays, and planning the next Travel With Kids adventure!

The Travel With Kids series is designed to educate and exite a family planning a trip to a destination, providing educational, cultural and historical information, along with the usual tourist tips.
